Open a file imported onto CloudOn using iTunes App File sharing

I imported a Excel file into CloudOn using iTunes App File Sharing but then couldn't see it in CloudOn on the iPad, to open it. Where does it go? And how can I have the facility of exporting and importing the file onto and from USB Flash drive (using a connection kit) for backup purposes?
