How has CloudOn Updated the Ribbon in Microsoft Word?
CloudOn has updated the format of the ribbon in Microsoft Word for improved tap access to favorite features. While the File menu is still purposely disabled (as any edits made in CloudOn are autosaved removing the need to take an explicit “save” action), users have access to the “Home”, “Paragraph”, “Style”, “Insert”, “Text & Symbols”, “Page Layout”, “References”, “Review”, “View”, and “Table Tools” tabs within the file.
The customized “Home” tab offers access to features such as “Cut, Copy, and Paste”, and other formatting features such as Font Style, Size, and Color, etc. We’ve laid out these options in a simpler and more tap friendly fashion. The ribbon also gives access to a new CloudOn feature called “annotations” that allows users to add graphics and notes on a file they are reviewing.
The “Paragraph” tab offers text/table formatting and alignment settings. The “Style” tab offers features like “Clear Formatting” and “Find” & “Replace”. The “Insert” tab allows users to insert tables and shapes into files as well as “Headers” and “Footers” and more.
The “Text and Symbols” tab allows users to create equations
and access the symbols panel from an easy tap friendly interface. The “Page
Layout” tab allows users to set margins, set the page color, create page
breaks, and more. The “References” tab
allows users to create a Table of Contents, insert captions and citations, and
mark entries to name a few features.
The “Review” tab enables users to check spelling in a file as well as to use the “thesaurus” feature. The “Annotations” buttons, which allow users to add graphics and notes on a file they are reviewing as well as to hide or show thse annotations, is also available from this tab.
The “View” tab allows a user to navigate through different document views, including a web layout view, outline view, and draft view.
The contextual tools for objects like shapes and images are presented on one tab, allowing for quick editing of any inserted objects.
